[Apparently one day got his guard down. Apparently it's also just one of those days where he's listlessly going to pick up his phone and sort of forget that it's not the store phone.]
Welcome to Leviathan's Claw, home of neither whales nor claws but everything else you can imagine. How can I help you?
[It's been some time since Elda's...that, and everything had worked out, more or less; we all sort of agree that we love Elda but we don't like Elda when she's drunk, and we're just going to move forward with our lives. In Wesker's case, this involves some sort of incredibly backwards apology in Silver's direction, in which he doesn't apologize at all but he texts the kid and actually volunteers to leave the house as opposed to making Silver seek him out and drag him. Silver's choice, with regards to location, as long as it wasn't anywhere outdoors because it's still January and Wesker is deciding to respect himself today.
...And that is how they ended up wandering in the general direction of the arcade, in the dark, in total silence for the past ten minutes because what is there even to talk about on outings. At least Wesker doesn't feel the need to fill silence with words, just as a general thing; silence is fine, for the time being.]
[The silence would be perfectly fine on any other day- or month, in this case- but the presence of the darkness and the knowledge that they're enclosed is unnerving, to say the absolute least, so after ten minutes he finally blurts out-]
So do you do fun stuff with Jeager too, or is it still just me and the occasional trip to the comic book store?
[It's something to talk about. Maybe not the smoothest beginning of conversation, but it's that or he starts uselessly waving his flashlight around at everything but where they're walking.]

How would you like to help us help you out? Your observation period's up and I want you on this particular assignment. You'll be fine, you're probably not going to die, and we'll be able to monitor you from here. We need help. You've got the skills needed even if you don't know it yet. I know it and that's what counts.
You'll be working with a group (wish I could give you the names, still putting the lists together), but your assignment partner is Elda Marker. Should you choose to accept this assignment, you will need to meet at the Recollé Zoo and Aquarium and we'll go from there.
You'll be rewarded for your success, of course, but this is only if we have an agreement. Do we have an agreement?
[No other messages will be sent from this account at this time.]
[ooc: Hello! You've been sorted into group 4. Your event log will go up at 9pm EST along with all of the other logs. We encourage you to read the main event log as well for more information about your recruiter and this note. In the meantime, head over to this thread on the latest mod post and meet your teammates. Thank you!]
You could at least tell me what you want me to do, you know. Or what I should bring.
[And he'd be paired with Elda, of all people? Well, that's better than her being on her own... She probably feels the same way. And besides, protests aside, it isn't as if he ever had a different answer other than-]
[It is far too late in the night, or far too early in the morning depending on perspective, for Belle to be at Silver's door meowing up a storm. Scratch scratch. Let her in. Liz isn't anywhere to be found, on one of her night walks that she has nowadays (unknown to her roommates), and Silver is Needed. Meow meow meeeoooowwww.
Following Belle will reveal the reason why: it's a situation similar to something months ago, the bathroom light on and door closed but unlocked, sniffling sounds coming from within. This time it does smell faintly of sickness, but his stomach won't give anymore, so. There's that.]
[Two things follow Belle's protests, and neither of them are talking to Goro. The first is taking a can of aerosol, peeking the bathroom door open and spraying it generously before the scent tracks to the rest of the apartment. Goro could probably use the smell of fresh linen anyway. The next is that he's taking a trip to the kitchen; while he's relatively useless at cooking, there's no reason he can't make him something soothing to drink.
The drink of choice is hot chocolate; surprisingly, Silver actually has a shred of a clue of what to put into hot chocolate although Goro may or may not appreciate the cinnamon. It isn't in excess, but who knows. It's another five or ten minutes before he (Sneasel, before Sneasel) knocks on the door.]
[He loves the smell of linen, even if he's immediately tense at the fact someone else is up. While Silver's been making hot chocolate he's been trying to clean himself up, no ruddy face no puffed up eyes, things like that. You know, so when he opens the door he can feign surprise at Silver and Sneasel.]
My, what are you two doing up? [Notably, his voice is kept low. This is to prevent from sounding like he's strained it.] It's quite late.
[In hindsight, Wesker is not altogether sure why three of the least excited people about camping decided to go off to the woods, but the fact remains that here they are. To its credit, Bosuma has been fascinating so far, in its own way; there are a few things that are pinging him a little strangely about it - memories of spending a lot of time in the forests in the Arklay Mountains, primarily - but generally speaking, he can't say he minds it any.
Spending time with Elda and Silver has also been good, overall, though the latter has been giving him pause once in a while; interacting with Silver hasn't been bad since the end of February, but it's been strained, and that would be why Wesker approaches him a while into their stay, while Elda is asleep for the time being.]
[...He doesn't say anything for a moment and looks around at the trees to draw emphasis at all the things he has to do here in the great outdoors.]
I have plenty of moments.
[And he can even stand up and almost look Wesker in the eye to do so. Sneasel's definitely taking the opportunity to look Wesker in the eye, of course; a couple of months haven't made the novelty of how strange he smells wear off just yet.]
[the city is filling out nicely. it's vaguely pretty to look at now, chaotic with colors and splotches of monochrome. leo's taken to wandering around and splashing red onto everything, all while planning a surprise attack on his friend..♪]
