[Shit, that's absolutely perfect. He couldn't ask for a better living situation. Why the hell did Goro have to offer him this? ...Well, I mean- Goro wouldn't be completely terrible to live with, right? He's not bad, he's-]
How much would the rent be?
[...That means he wouldn't see Elda and Toushiro every day, right? Not unless he commuted all the way over to them...]
[But judging from Silver's excitement and willingness to be vaguely more friendly than usual, he thinks he might have himself a roommate barring outside influences.]
[... What the fuck Silver that's-- that's so nice, actually, he looks a little taken back.]
No, it's... I've known you longer, even if our relationship hasn't been the most conventional, and I really wouldn't have asked if I wasn't serious about you.
[Which makes this entire thing sound Kind Of Gay, I'm sorry.]
[...That's sort of touching, and Silver... Isn't sure what to do with this information. Alright, let's- let's try honesty, right? That's worked out okay before, and... Ugh.]
I'm probably going to say yes. I just need to talk to someone about it. The person I've been staying with for the past few weeks.
[It was never supposed to be a permanent deal, so why? Why is he so reluctant about this? This is what he wanted, isn't it?]
I can live with anyone that knows about retrospec, so I'm fine with any roommate you want. If you end up forgetting about everything, I'll still pay for rent and bills, but I'm moving out onto the streets immediately.
[Oh, this is so new, it's uncomfortable and oddly okay at the same time. How does he... What's he say.]
That's... Yes, that's acceptable. Thank you.
[Like, for a lot of that? Um.]
I'll send you the address later so you can give it a look over as well, and I don't mind waiting longer than a week if it comes to it. But I'd like to move in before the term starts.
When'd you decide that? I mean, I can't remember a time when you didn't go on about being a detective, but when did you decide it was a great idea to sink a bunch of money into it?
[Hey look, he's not calling detectives useless today. It really is a weird day.]
Well, I've always admired them for the reasons anyone else might; they're smart and clever, but they don't lose that human feel to them despite being seemingly out of touch, beyond our reach. Even Holmes had his vices! But they're well-liked and sought after to solve things that stump those otherwise, and always bring the right person to justice, even if that justice lies in allowing the supposed culprit escape.
[They're not black and white, essentially. They're very much human and can make mistakes too, but no one dislikes them just because they make one.]
There's another reason I'd like to become one, though, even if it may remain a... a hobby, I guess, [which he is obviously loathe to call it,] but it's more personal.

[Still, it's good to know exactly how much of a stick in the mud Goro is.]
Is it closer to Tisse or Viea?
[Please say Tisse, please say Tisse-]
no subject
Tisse.
[Closer to his mother, and consequently further from Silver's.]
I'm sorry if that isn't to your liking, but it's what I offer.

Perfectly payable, in other words. If not, then I don't mind carrying a litte more weight.
Do we have a deal?
no subject
How long do I have to think about it?

[But judging from Silver's excitement and willingness to be vaguely more friendly than usual, he thinks he might have himself a roommate barring outside influences.]

[...]
Have you considered anyone else for the last room?
[That's a good topic change, let's focus on that.]
no subject
Ah, no, I haven't! Not really. But if anyone comes to mind for you, then that's more money in our pockets.

[Big Fucking Lie.]

[You damn liar.]

There's someone I wanted to ask before you, but... I decided not to. That's all I'll say on the matter.
no subject
You should do what you want to do, you know. Don't just settle.
no subject
No, it's... I've known you longer, even if our relationship hasn't been the most conventional, and I really wouldn't have asked if I wasn't serious about you.

[Has Silver ever been this serious before?]

That's... Yes, that's acceptable. Thank you.

[Although the address would be appreciated.]
You're majoring in your cop stuff, right?
no subject
[Does Silver want to join him, as unlikely as that is.]

[Hey look, he's not calling detectives useless today. It really is a weird day.]
now in the right spot
[But he only pauses for a beat, rubbing his arm.]
I think I would have gone anyway, though. There's many different viewpoints offered in higher education, and I value that.
no subject
[You know, Goro's probably answered this plenty of times, but this is the first time that Silver actually seems interested in the answer.]
no subject
[Inspiring his detective spirit, as it was.]
...I did not mean to pick the smiley icon, whoops
[Maybe saying he's never been passionate about anything is a bit of a stretch, but... It gets the point across well enough, anyway.]
too bad he's Thrilled now

What's the personal reason?
[...He's not just gonna give it up for that, Silver, come on-]
I'll share a secret with you for it.
