Hey! Shouto!

[-He announces himself by shouting for him instead of knocking like a sane person.]

[There's only one person who shows up and yells like that.

He'll come down and open the door.]

You could always text or knock.

[But it's not like he minds that much.]

Yeah, probably.

[That doesn't mean that he's going to, however. He holds up a smoothie- it occurred to him at the last minute to hop back into the damn smoothie shop and pick one up.]

Hope you like strawberries.

[He'll raise a brow, but he'll also take the smoothie.]

... Thanks. Did you get one for yourself?

[He will not discuss the other contents of what he did before he got here, but there is that.]

[Shouto will not be asking, he's fine with that.

He starts padding over to his room.]

[He takes a sip as he pulls out a few issues.]

I need to find a suit for you too.

...It's fine if it doesn't fit very well.

[Silver is six feet tall and more or less a beanpole. He's not about to get picky, especially when it means that he doesn't have to bust a paycheck on something.]

[The unfortunate thing is Shouto's father is Big and Broad, so all of the male children are similarly proportioned.]

It'll be big enough for you, but you're skinny.

[And the only people who are even slightly as skinny are his mom and sister. Regrettably they don't have suits.]

I'll make it work. Or you can just put me in a dress.

[Haha... Ha-]

You think your dad's gonna be cool with you going to prom?

[Isn't he really uptight and strict or something-]

Those might be too short for you.

[He's... taking it seriously, oh no.

His expression shifts immediately from relatively calm to glowering.]

He can't stop me. I've been sneaking out for years.

[...He hit the nerve.]

Relax. I'll help sneak you out and everything. We're responsible students heading to the library to go study since it will be nice and empty on prom night. We can sneak into suits later.

[He huffs out a sigh, in an attempt to settle himself.]

It's fine. Mom will help me sneak out. Just take the suit home with you. Nobody else is using it.

On the bright side, you've only got around a year and a half left, right?

[And then he doesn't have to listen to a damn word his dad says.]

[Do you think he listens now?]

I've been saving up. I should be able to get an apartment with what I have so far.

I'm looking for an apartment right now.

[Lest he... You know, get thrown out on the streets in less in a month.]

Finding one is a pain, but when you hit eighteen, you can come straight to my place for as long as you want.

[It's a big thing to promise, but he's got a job and a year and a half to make good on it.]

Place you're living not working out?

[There's a pause as he lets that really sink in.]

... You're really fine with that?

Yeah, of course I am.

[He doesn't see a reason why he shouldn't be. Shouto's his friend and it's just an apartment.]

I'm getting kicked out when I graduate. Not that I'm gonna miss it.

Let me know if you need help covering the deposit.

[If Silver's going to offer, then he should offer to help.]

[...That gets him to pause for a moment, but he quickly shakes his head and tries to play it cool.]

Don't worry, I've got the money. I just need to find someone that's gonna trust some teenage kid with nothing, that's all.

[Shouto's a pretty good friend. Maybe he should give him a little more credit.]

[His stare is just as level as usual.]

If you're offering your future place, I can offer to help pay for it.

They're more willing to take you if somebody can vouch for you and you've got a job.

That's the problem. I've got the job part down, but no one to vouch for me.

[All things considered, though, he's doing better than most of the aged out orphans.]

It just means that I have to be a little more determined, that's all. It also means that I'm gonna need a buddy to eat pizza with when I finally do land a place to live.

Another teenager won't help.

[That leaves mom or... hell if he's asking his father for anything.]

Call me up when you find a place. [As long as he's not in rehearsal or practice he'll be there.]
