[And White knows she might definitely get flax for this, but her voice is firm.]
I kind of like the idea of using apathy to help out a lot, as long as people consent to it. Doctor Kirishima mentioned that they've been able to depress negative emotions while leaving the positive ones untouched, so I'd like to continue looking into that and maybe seeing if some of the Arehtei would be willing to test it out to see if it'll get rid of the black on them.
[She figures this topic in particular might be one of the more controversial ones, so it's just best to be out with it. And honest too.]
But it definitely all rides on their consent to it through and through, and I honestly think that if we use it right then it can help all of us. Especially people who can't help how they feel or intentionally cause it. Any poison can be a medicine if you use the right dosage.
...I don't disagree, as long as there's an option involved.
[Forcing people into apathy is one thing. Letting people decide on it is another.]
I'm not sure about the Arehtei, though. We don't know how it will affect them, right? [...] But I guess if they have hundreds of years of emotions affecting them, maybe it can't be too bad.
[He's not sure how to feel about it, but he doesn't object to what White is saying, at least.]
None of that apathy barrier stuff, though. Or hitting the Arehtei with it through some weapon, or using people as apathy juice.
I can definitely say no on the first one, because that's like the opposite of what we need, but I don't know about the second. It could save lives if we hit a rampaging one with something like that, but a weapon that harnesses pure calmness or their opposite emotion might work just as well...
I gotta say though, I must've not caught the apathy juicer thing. Can you really do that?
I thought it was totally awesome! I can see how people'd be wary of it since they're used to open displays of their feelings and how they got mad at Thras and all, but considering how things have been I can't say I really blame him.
[At least it's calmed down, mostly. There's probably still sentiments regarding it... but nothing's happened since then.]
They've been good to us and we've been good to them. It'd be a waste to cut ties or think we're better than them for whatever reason, especially since they've been so hospitable despite the fact it seems we've only brought trouble to them, basically, though maybe that's just my view since I'm really not that much different than them.
[Boring and normal. That aside, this is a nice time to mention her plans about it too.]
I think it'd be nice if they could learn some dunamis too! And if they were friends rather than foes with Shaarnath's people and vice versa. It's part of a representative's job to be the bridge between Otherworlders and Verens' government, after all. I wouldn't be serious about this if I was just looking for a fight.
[That's fair to say, considering his partners. And Weavile gets a glance too. She figures it might have something to do with that.]
There's nothing all that special about me. Back home, the only notable thing is that my family's part of this thing back home called the League of High Order Spirituals and has been for generations, and even then that's nothing too out of the ordinary compared to some people's situations.
[Though her not having powers where everyone else in her family does is kind of strange.]
I can only sit back and watch things happen, just like the natives. I mean, right now. I won't do that if I'm elected.
There's been a running gag in her life where people here have told her something similar to that. Either she needs to start listening to it and putting a little more value on her life or keep battling against it because seriously??]
[Don't give her ideas, Silver. Black'll have words with you if she ends up bringing home a lonely gryphon that wants to stay with a flower.]
There's just some things people like me can't do, Silver. Not even here.
[It's just fact, and that's actually how she sounds when she says it, no wavering glances.]
You have your Pokémon that you can depend on to help you out when you're dealing with more dangerous tasks or when there's a bad time with the Arehtei. But this, the representative spot, is pretty much a free for all, something anyone can try their hand at without precedent. Get what I'm saying?
You can do anything you set your mind to. I'd say except maybe have cool magical powers, but we can even have those here. You don't have to be born with them.
[And just to get his point across, he's going to...
...Put a hand on her head, because that feels like the best course of action right now. He believes in you, buddy.]
That includes the representative spot, too. If that's what you'd like to do, then do it.
But. She feels kind of like a kid. She shouldn't have to have someone younger than her tell her things like that, especially since she's the one that's always told Black the same thing. When White speaks again, there's a hint of a plea, and the air feels a little... weird. Stuffy, maybe.]
[It clears up instantly, as does her expression and tone.]
You will?! Oh, Silver, thanks a ton!
[And he's certainly getting a hug, but it's not quick like she'd usually give to anyone. It's a little longer, because she's got something on the edge of her tongue she wants to say--
before she pulls away again and acts like it's fine.]
Make sure you talk to Miss Milla and Ludger too, okay? Get them on board. Tell all your friends about me so any competition's shot down before it even rises up.

[But he smiles, just a little, and puts a hand over the pocket on his chest- where his crystal is- before continuing.]
And what about that apathy plan? You don't want anything to do with that, right?

[A shrug. Moving on--]

What about Shaarnath?

[At least it's calmed down, mostly. There's probably still sentiments regarding it... but nothing's happened since then.]
Anything specific about it?

[For once. Look at that! We agree on a third of the topics!]
And the natives? The ones in Verens.

What do you mean you're not that much different than them?
[Isn't she a literal world of difference from them?]

[It's a little more work than he makes it sound like, but it's not supposed to be easy. The point is that it's something within her reach.]
You can do all kinds of amazing things. It's all about what you're willing to do, and how much work you want to put into it.
[Just like now, with the representatives.]

What happened to her to make her think that she can't do all kinds of things?]
No. I'll vote for you.
