[ So it was the same thing, but that wasn't a bad thing. The offer catches him off guard for a second, though regardless-- ]

Oh-- sure. [ Harnessing emotions into power... it makes him silent for a moment, thinking about a potential he...really couldn't imagine that well, actually. But there was something else, wasn't there. ]

...I remember, Thras told me--we could turn that power into a way to protect our pokémon. We could make barriers, or be the ones to give them more strength.

[ When Thras had shared that with him, he had wanted to learn it right there and then. And there was that offer being granted to him now (albeit, at a later date) but yet, he couldn't help himself from feeling unsure.

But Silver sounded so positive about it. ]

Do you really think everything that was in his book is going to be possible?

...Right now, I can punch harder than I've ever been able to before. It's not quite as great as it was when Thras gave us his challenge, but...

I have control. That's more important than the powers, if you ask me.

[Not over his emotions, but over how they exist, how they hurt or how they help. If he keeps practicing, maybe he won't freeze his own feet over anymore.]

[ ... ] I'll watch the images of the city some more and see if anyone talks about the training again. Maybe I can get an early start before everyone comes back. Do you know how long you're going to be over there for?

I have no idea, but I don't think it will be too long.

[Unless Thras just decided they're chilling in his city for the rest of forever. ...Which he wouldn't really object to.]

How are you holding up? I haven't checked in with you in a while.

[...Thras said he was in despair... Can he really help him?]

[ It's a short silence, just before he answers. ]

I'm okay. We both are. [ That being Charizard, of course. ] Nothing hurts anymore, and...

Yeah. Everything's okay.

[ His own side was quiet on the emotional side, at the very least, the sound of his mental voice softening only temporarily there. ]

How about you? You sound alright, and you said you and your pokémon are doing great now... Gyarados too? [ ... ] Does he still like attention?

Gyarados is pretty simple. He's mostly just annoyed about what happened.

[And that he keeps getting babied as a result.]

We're doing okay, even if it was...

[Ludger, but he's not supposed to reveal that and cuts himself off.

Thank god he's learned how to use the damn crystals better.]
