[Well, that's a good as time as any to let Gyarados out; some sand is displaced as he lands, and he looks a little disappointed to be let out on the beach rather than in the water, but soon looks at Shouto attentively. Who this?]
You've heard of the big red dog. Now meet the big red dragon.
[...You know, Gyarados isn't quite sure what they're talking about, but he'll lift his head and not so subtly plop it down closer to the two of them anyway. Not that he's suggesting anything. Certainly not something like he wants to be pet, that would just be silly.]
[Apparently one day got his guard down. Apparently it's also just one of those days where he's listlessly going to pick up his phone and sort of forget that it's not the store phone.]
Welcome to Leviathan's Claw, home of neither whales nor claws but everything else you can imagine. How can I help you?
[She'll have a good amount of time to get ready, given that even if Silver wasn't putting off coming to see Elda- which he is, sort of- there's no way he isn't getting at least a little bit lost on his way there because he simply didn't come equipped to handle this level of darkness. A flashlight can only go so far once he's out of the busier areas of the city and closer to Elda's. Sneasel helps, of course, apparently being much better at navigating at minimal levels of light like this than he is.
The real challenge comes when they actually get there, of course, but Silver takes a deep breath and tries not to brace himself too much before knocking once and entering.]
I brought you a smoothie.
[On one hand, it's January. On the other hand, anything warm would have been cold by now, so maybe he had the right idea...?]
[ She comes to the door looking as proper as ever, but her red eyes seem to be... well, a little bit redder? However somewhat puffy eyes look when one is red-eyed. Still, they also seem slightly reflective with the reduced light and when he gets there she blinks and - ]
Oh, right, I should have just come pick you up. I keep forgetting everyone else can't see.
[ A lot of the lights in the house are off now as Toushiro is out but when Silver's in the foyer she flicks the red lights on there and then some others. There's the sound of bats in the rafters. ]
... We did. I was upset last night but - honestly that's all beside the point.
[ She waves a hand a little bit as she takes the smoothie in hand and then makes to flip the lights on in the drawing room really. Let's take a seat. ]
[He'll sit then, and without much fuss; Sneasel wriggles his way onto his lap, and Silver knows it's childish to fiddle around with him too much while they speak, but he finds himself playing with his claws anyway.]
You have the floor, Elda.
[He says it passively. Even if he has an idea of what's coming, he's not ready to emotionally commit to a particular direction.]
... She doesn't sit, just sort of not quite paces, but rocks there in place a little bit before she speaks up. She's been considering this all day but... ]
I know you're an adult. It's hard for me to accept that, but you are permitted to make you own choices, of course, and I respect those.
[Not that he needs her permission or respect. It's a quick and defensive thought, and he's glad he doesn't give voice to it. He knows that already. This isn't the same as when he was fifteen and in foster care. Elda isn't going to spontaneously stop caring about him, and he needs to learn to trust in that fact. She's not even getting angry.]
